THE SECRET SAUCE.
Our plant based vegan bacon sure doesn’t grow on trees and meat certainly doesn’t, but that’s another discussion. That said, the process is like making pastry and we’ll show you how it’s done!
EPISODE 1:
THE LEAN PASTE.
We make a lean plant based meat paste from soya proteins and add colourants with natural flavours.
EPISODE 2:
THE FAT.
Fat is La Vie™ and La Vie™ is fat. We prepare our patented plant based meat recipe from sunflower oil which is naturally low in saturated fat.
EPISODE 3:
THE MIX
We assemble the paste and fat in order to visually mimic a slice of bacon. We do this without pork or any cuts…are you following?
EPISODE 4:
SLICING.
We slice with a whole load of love when it comes to our vegetable protein – we like it like that.
EPISODE 5:
SMOKING.
Our meatless but definitely porky intruder is smoked with beech to bring out the juiciness and flavour.

We tested about 5000 fat plant-based recipes over the last 3 years – the word train spotter probably doesn’t do our quest justice! What we found was that soya based recipes left all the other plant based meats looking a little sheepish.
Soya also has a bunch of nutritional advantages. It’s rich in proteins and with all the essential amino acids. And obviously, our soya is GM free.
If ever in doubt we look to nutritionists and for us this article in Santé Magazine seems like a pretty good article:
